Woooooooooo Wednesday - Halloween link up!

Trick or Treat! I'm home, and just in time for Halloween. Being a bad mother who was out enjoying herself at a hotel (afternoon tea, four poster, peacocks) I left the buying of pumpkins to the last minute and discovered they'd all sold out. I'm also a bad blogger who was too busy to sort out her own link party yesterday - sue me. We'll have it today instead. Halloween inspired posts especially welcome but not essential.

Luckily improvisation is one of my many middle names - Lakota is just one of them - so I got busy with a serrated knife and a couple of oranges. The kids seemed happy enough, but they're probably even more of a fire hazard than pumpkins, what with their tendency to roll about the place. The oranges that is, not the children. Although, come to think of it...

There was something odd about her groceries this week, but she just couldn't quite put her finger on it...

Link up lovelies!

  3. Well my gosh if you lived up here you would have no problem finding pumpkins. I think they pick too much of them and then they get wasted. =( Cause they cant sell all of em.

Your oranges are rather cute and I like your nails!!! Happy Woohoo Halloween!

  6. There's something menacing about those oranges, they look far more evil than a pumpkin. Best excuse for not being around, no wonder you're all chilled about missing the link up and not finding pumpkins.

Halloween was a washout here. Torrential rain and everyone who had their lights on and a pumpkin in the window was out trick or treating! Nevermind, I have mountains of sweets to eat now.

    Love the nails, very clever.

  11. It doesn't have to be a pumpkin, I think you could do a whole range of alternative scary fruit and veg!
You must have the steadiest hands EVER to be able to do those nails - can you do the other hand and everything? My right hand always looks like a child has done the nail varnish...
I've linked! I was even prepared yesterday, so yeah, I am going to sue actually. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  12. Love your nails! We got no trick or treaters at all as we live in an old fogey area, but we took our party goers out for their first trick or treating which was a great success. Happy Hallowe'en Lakota!

  13. Love the oranges -so sweet! And your nails are cool too! Happy Halloween! Did the peacocks display , and did you manage to get some tail feathers? I waited for hours at a castle in Hungary for some, patience was rewarded!

  14. You have surpassed yourself with Halloween slackness and I'm so very proud of you! My excuse for not buying carving pumpkins was they were too expensive. And we pretended we weren't home when little horrors traipsed the streets, holding up my poor unprepared neighbours demanding revolting sweets. I had a bunch of rotting celery to dole out if they dared knock on our door. Seriously. I was also prepared to show them a one of the movies we were watching - they could choose from The Innkeepers, Audrey Rose or The Ring. I'm sure their parents would thank me for ignoring their sticky sprogs;)) Bloody awesome nails!! xoxo

  15. You could have cut their bottoms off of course - to stop them rolling around I mean - and yes, I am talking about the oranges, but come to think of it ...

  18. I took my son to a party where they'd used a squash instead of a pumpkin, which I thought was a good idea for little mini ones next year. I love those nails, and they actually look do-able as well, most nail designs are beyond my crap skills. xx

  19. How creative, I never would have thought of using oranges and might just steal that idea next year! (Way easier than carving a pumpkin!) Love your nails too! I wish I took a pick of mine, I did crazy zombie nails and was quite proud of my slap-dash job! XXX Jet

  20. Walsall's awash with pumpkins. Most of the residents have a fear of vegetables, we're not one of the fattest towns in the UK for nothing!
Love the demonic orange and full of admiration for your steady hands, I couldn't dream of attempting those nails with my cack-handedness! x
